RAJASTHAN

The cooperative movement in Rajasthan started in 1904 from Ajmer. In 1904 itself, the first cooperative agricultural bank of the state was established in Deeg (Bharatpur). The cooperatives in Rajasthan are driven by the noble objective of liberating farmers, workers, artisans, small businessmen, and the public engaged in productive activities from the exploitation of middlemen. The primary focus is on encouraging collective economic activity based on cooperation to ensure the economic, social, and cultural development of these diverse groups. Additionally, cooperatives aim to provide quality goods to consumers at reasonable prices, fostering an exploitation-free, self-reliant, and robust economic and social system for the overall progress of the state.Rajasthan’s cooperative landscape is characterized by 36,818 Primary Cooperative Societies, 73 Multi-State Cooperatives, 18 State Federations, 29 District Cooperative Banks, and 36 Primary Cooperative Agriculture & Rural Development Banks.
